History

It was created in 1987 with the name of Hanseong Bank, which was the first modern bank in the country. It started operating in the 1900s, and in 1982, it was restored. During those years, it lent money from the Japanese banks at double interest rates to the Korean market and thus managed to consolidate more as an institution. It merged with Chohung Bank in 2005 and subsequently, along with Jeju Bank, began to be part of the Shinhan Financial Group. In 2013, its online banking services were temporarily blocked.
