This institution arises under the name of Banque De Candolle Mallet & Cie in 1805, due to the need to establish an independent private bank. It was created thanks to a society composed by Jacob-Michel-François de Candolle and Jacques-Henry Mallet. It was dedicated to satisfying the commercial and financial needs of customers and companies of that time.
The name of the bank began to have “Pictet” by the inclusion of Edouard Pictet following the death of De Candolle. It established branches in several parts of the country, achieving rapid growth in terms of the number of employees and the amount of banking activities offered.
