China Development Bank

Its abbreviation is CDB. It is a development bank located in China operated under state control. One of its most important functions is to raise funds to support large-scale infrastructure projects in the country.


It was established as a financial institution under the command of the State Council in 1994 to support the highest priority infrastructure projects in the country. It has to finance the Government’s macroeconomic projects and policies and promote national economic development. In 2003, it made loans for approximately 460 national debt projects. In 2008, it was incorporated as a China Development Bank Corporation. In 2015, it was officially established as a development financial institution. In 2018, it granted funds to fulfill some of the pending projects. Today, it has approximately 40 national branches and ten abroad.
