History

It was created in 1943 thanks to the merger of the Chiba Godo Bank, the Omigawa Agricultural and Commercial Bank, and the Kujuhachi Bank. It emerged to respond to the financial needs developed in Chiba Prefecture. Chiba Bank wanted to meet the needs of customers and companies by offering the best banking services.

In 1960, high economic growth allowed deposits and loans to increase. In 1970, the bank was listed in the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, and a year later, it was positioned in the first section.

It moved its headquarters to Chiba-Minato in 1973. During the 1980s and 1990s, the bank opened new branches in New York, Hong Kong, London, Shanghai, and others to expand internationally.

Chiba Bank became the first regional bank in Japan to sell dollar bonds in 2014.
