History

This bank was formed thanks to the merger of different institutions. In 1989, Nara Bank was established, which bought Asiana Bank in 2003. Center Bank was founded in 1986, and 2010, it acquired Innovative Bank. Nara Bank and Center Bank joined in 2011 to form BBCN Bank, and two years later, it merged with Pacific International Bank and Foster Bank to expand its range of services in other states.

On the other hand, in 1980, Wilshire Bank was created, and over the years it was acquiring new companies such as Liberty Bank of New York (2005), Mirae Bank (2009), BankAsiana (2013) and Saehan Bank (2013) to expand in different parts of the country.

In 2016, Bank of Hope was created by the union of BBCN Bank and Wilshire Bank.
